Hard at work stripping shingles off of the roof
#OPP Worksite:
On our worksite, we arrived to begin shingling right away. We met our homeowner, who generously supplied us with soda, homemade peanut butter bars and bubblegum. At lunch, we went to a local park, and we played with some adorable puppies. At the site, we got a good part of the roof done already, and it was a very successful day.
Team Granny Worksite:
Team Granny was blessed to meet our incredibly strong and caring homeowner- "Miss Ellen" or affectionately- Granny. Today was a hot day, but everyone courageously got up onto the roof. From clipping pear tree branches to ripping shingles down and putting on tarp paper, the day was a great success.
Team Jebbie Worksite:
Today we met our carpenter Will and the homeowner. We completed one side of our roof. The land around the house is filled with all kinds of farm animals. It was a hot, but productive day in the KY mountains.
Tonight's speaker was Sam Kenah:
"Tonight I spoke about honesty. I thought it was especially important when I said, 'God sees everything. If you are trying to hide something from yourself, you are most likely trying to hide it from God.' I touched upon honesty with others, honesty with yourself, and most importantly, honesty with God."
