TUESDAY

#OPP Worksite:

Today on our worksite, we started the second part of the roof and have nearly completed the first. The exciting part was when the owner of the house came home with his wife from the hospital--she's been sick for a long time, but is home now. When she came in, she hugged all of us, thanking us for what we're doing, and saying God bless you all.

Team Granny Worksite:
Today, on our worksite at Granny's, we got to work right away in order to meet our goal of getting close to finishing one of the peaks on our roof. We worked hard through the heat, and never let up despite the sweat. We look forward to another awesome day tomorrow!

Team Jebbie Worksite:
Today Jebbie's team got straight to work ripping up old shingles. We then tarped the roof with roof-liner and began putting together beams to support the other side of the roof. When we broke for lunch, we spoke with our homeowner's son-in-law about the conditions in Harlan, which was pretty eye-opening. We started putting beams on the roof towards the end of the day, and we headed home after a long but successful day!

Tonight's speaker was Megan Griffin:

"Tonight I gave a talk about Fate; more specifically, fate in regards to God's plan for each of us. I shared my personal story of struggling to find my purpose, and emphasized that God has an important job for each of us and we must persevere through every obstacle in order to complete it."
